  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced into rings
  • 4 slices of cheese (optional)

Sauce Options (use any of your choice):

  • Green chutney
  • Mayonnaise or mint mayonnaise
  • Tamarind chutney
  • Ketchup

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Aloo Tikki

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, green peas, chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, and spices (red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt).
  2. Add the bread crumbs and cornflour (if using), and mix well. Adjust the consistency to form patties. If too soft, add more bread crumbs.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a round patty.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and shallow-fry the patties until golden and crispy on both sides. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 2: Toast the Buns

  1. Slice the burger buns in half. Lightly butter each half.
  2. Toast the buns on a pan until golden and slightly crisp.

Step 3: Assemble the Burger

  1. Spread green chutney, tamarind chutney, or mayo on the bottom half of the bun.
  2. Place a lettuce leaf on the bun, followed by the crispy aloo tikki patty.
  3. Add a slice of cheese (optional), tomato slices, and onion rings.
  4. Spread sauce on the top bun and place it over the filling.

Step 4: Serve

  1. Serve your Aloo Tikki Burger hot with extra ketchup or chutney on the side.
  2. Enjoy your fusion delight!

This Aloo Tikki Burger pairs well with fries, a side salad, or even masala fries for an extra kick. Enjoy!
